Visit our local mountain, Mount Plose, the fortress in Fortezza, the climbing hall ‘Vertikale’ and the water world ‘Acquarena’ – plus there are many cultural highlights in our area that are well worth a trip. Right here in Varna near Bressanone – about a 15-minute walk away – is the Augustinian Canons’ Monastery of Novacella: with its baroque church and the wonderful garden, it is one of the cultural highlights of the region. After exploring the art gallery, the museum, and the library, you may round off your experience with a visit to the rustic tavern and a wine tasting.
The baroque episcopal city of Bressanone offers a variety of interesting sights, museums, and exhibitions. We will be happy to organize individual tours and visits for you.
Not far away, in the south of the Isarco Valley, lies the medieval town of Chiusa with its romantic winding streets and beautiful old town houses. The pretty small town was immortalized by Albrecht Dürer in his engraving “The Great Happiness” and is still today considered a popular meeting point for artists.
On a trip to the regional capital Bolzano, you may visit the popular ‘Ötzi Museum’, the colourful fruit market and countless art-historical treasures. And if you continue to the charming town of Merano, don’t miss the Laubengasse and the parish church of St. Nicholas. It is also worth visiting the nearby Tyrol Castle with its ‘Bird Show‘. The beautiful Pusteria Valley also offers many unique highlights, for example the MMM – Messner Mountain Museum at 2,275 m on the summit of Plan de Corones.
